4/13/2008 - Angelita Ethereality
-------------------------------
Angelita was once a normal child, born July 21st, 1899. She lived in a lovely, family-built house with her mom and dad. The house was quite victorian, with ornate details and a metal fence with a gate. Angelita had a strong bond with her mother and father, and they often did many family activities together. Some of these activities included painting, shopping in the towne, having game nights with the neighbors, and much more. One afternoon, Angelita was in her bedroom waiting for her parents to finish preparing for a community event. She had cases and shelves filled with just books, and she would read them whenever she was bored. While she was mid-chapter, she heard a noise. An explosion. There were screams of terror from civilians who were running down the streets, trying to locate their families and find shelter. At that immediate moment, Angelita's parents came into her bedroom and grabbed her by the arm. They rushed downstairs into their bunker, where they hid for a long time. Weeks passed as Angelita and her parents survived off of canned soups and stored water, and weeks eventually turned into months. After 8 months, the attackers retreated and fled the country. Angelita, her mom, and her dad left the bunker for the first time in a long while, and found that their house had barely been affected by the war. There was damage, but it wasn't enough to force them into moving out. Angelita wandered outside to take a look at what the land had become, and the towne was in shambles. There was a horrible, rotting smell coming from almost everywhere in the towne. Angelita walked the streets of her towne, and while looking around, she realized that the town was destroyed by nuclear weapons. She ran home to avoid injury, and informed her parents of what she had seen. Her father rushed out to seek medicine for the three of them, to avoid getting sick from the chemicals in the air. Angelita and her mother waited patiently for a few hours as her father visited many doctors' offices. None of them had medication to supply, and some weren't even in service at all anymore. However, her father came across a wandering group of researchers and scientists who were looking for people to test their new anti-radiation medicines on. Angelita's father hesitated, debating whether or not it was worth it to risk their lives. He took the medication in the end, and remained in touch with the head researcher & pharmacist. He knew that whether they took the medication or not, they would be putting their lives in danger, so he decided to try the medicine. When he arrived home, he called out for Angelita and her mother. After searching the house, he eventually found them resting on the bed in the master bedroom. Their skin colors were pale, a sickly aura radiating off of them. He quickly grabbed water and handed both of them the pills, and took one himself. He felt wonderful, as if he had never touched a single poisonous chemical in his life. Angelita's mother healed just as well, and Angelita followed. The family felt swell as ever, but something was wrong. Angelita started shaking, violently. She got scared, and started frantically asking her parents what was going on. They were confused, because they had no symptoms themselves, but Angelita was having issues. She fell to the floor, weak, and continued to shake. Angelita constantly blacked out and regained consciousness, while her father rushed to the telephone to call the pharmacist. Angelita began to mutate, her neck opening into a form of jaw, as her face lifted up like it was a mask. She was no longer in control. The group of scientists had made a mistake when creating one of the bottles of pills, and it happened to be the bottle that Angelita had taken her dose out of. She started to attack her parents, chasing them and scratching at them, unknowingly craving flesh. Her body was melting and dripping a black fluid, creating trails of this ink-like substance around the house. Angelita wounded her parents beyond healing, but before her father could take his final breath, he grabbed a small table lamp from nearby and smashed it over her head to knock her out. She was found later by the group of scientists and researchers while unconscious, and they took her into their institution to study her behavioral pattern to figure out what made the medication go wrong. Angelita didn't know why she was being studied, and wasn't even aware of what she had done to her parents either. One night, Angelita was wandering the institution. She passed the staff room, but realized that she had overlooked something. She turned around and looked at it once more, and realized that the door was cracked open. She peered inside, but nobody was there. The lights were off. Angelita snuck inside and looked around, searching for the reason she was even in the institution in the first place. She opened the nearest filing cabinet and dug through the files, and she found one with her name on it. "Angelita Ethereality". She opened it and flipped through the pages. She found the part where she had attacked her parents, causing them to pass away. She was infuriated. Angelita was angry at every staff member for never telling her that her parents were dead, and more importantly, she was angry at herself for being the monster who killed them. She started to distress. Her body began mutating once more, but this time, she gave in. She sprinted out of the room and searched the building for staff members, attacking every single one that entered her sight. She released all the patients from the building and fled, crossing dimensions into one she had unknowingly manifested and created the day she killed her parents. Angelita wanted everyone to feel the pain that she felt, so she gathered resources and built a giant school. She trapped patients inside and tormented them with monsters she created, repeating every day like it was the same as before. Her body stopped aging after she turned 16, and was left permanently youthful. The head researcher & pharmacist from the group who corrupted her had reached out to her, offering a deal to make things up to her. Angelita had nothing left to lose, so she accepted. She learned that the pharmacist's name was Kadelina. They became friends over time, and began to institutionalize people, cure them, and send them off to Lurubelle to reside for the rest of their lives.

-------------------------------
Zachary Callahan was born on September 22nd, 1917. He was raised into an upper class family in Los Angeles, California. Zachary was childish, due to the fact that his parents would buy him whatever he wanted, left to go party, and then called it “parenting”. You’d think he was spoiled, because he was; Though he wasn’t a “brat”. Zachary was practically raised by his older sister, Lola Callahan. Lola was 5 years older than her brother, from the day that he was born she swore to stay with him forever, and she did.In between her painful dress-fittings and chores, Lola would go on picnics with Zachary, teaching him life-lessons and lecturing him. They would sit under the giant willow tree, observing ant-trails and butterflies, as well as braiding together flowers to make flower-crowns. Zachary didn’t ever learn how to braid the flowers accurately, they usually ended up unraveling into a pile of crimped-dandelions and other flowers that Zachary dug out of the neighbor’s gardens. Lola always saved the flowers that Zachary collected, she put them in a salmon-coloured vase and watered them accordingly.Soon the flowers started dying, Lola couldn’t water them anymore. Lola had started getting ill, very ill. It started with blood in the sink, then hospital beds. Every table or desk in Lola’s hospital room was covered in little plastic vases of flowers that Zachary would bring her almost every day, besides a small end-table with a record-player on it, usually playing Louis Armstrong or Amy Beach. The last night that Zachary ever got to spend with his sister was August 13th, 1930. Zachary was 13, his sister just barely made it to 19 years old before she died. Zachary hated the doctors, he hated his parents, he hated God, he hated everyone. The next few years of his life usually consisted of picking his mother’s head off the kitchen floor, and throwing away empty wine bottles which were cradled in her arms. Father had left two years after Lola’s death, he left Zachary and his mother the house, and barely enough money to last a few months.Zachary couldn’t do it. He couldn’t keep himself healthy. He was taken from his mother, as the living conditions of his home weren’t safe. He was sent to a ward of some kind, a place that inhabited children “just like him”. Living there were the worst 4 years of his life. He got horrifically bullied, his life was almost taken from him twice. One day, during nighttime where all of the patients were sleeping, three boys got into his room and dragged him into the campus courtyard. One of the boys had a dead rat in-hand, and intended on forcing Zachary into eating it, otherwise Zachary would be pushed off the balcony in which the other kids were pinning him against the balcony-railing, ducking his head over. Zachary refused, in result of this, he was pushed over, his fall was broken by a large boulder that ripped his stomach open. Zachary landed in the creek, blood pouring out of his torso and flooding down the creek. His bullies screeched, and called for staff. Zachary was immediately sent to the hospital, he was sewn up, and on life-support for days. Zachary had a permanent gnarly-scar on his stomach, he grew used to it however, starting to think it was cool.Zachary lived at the ward until he was 18, he was able to get a job at a bookstore outside of town, a place that Lola had always expressed her love for. Zachary moved into an apartment in which he had to live with a roommate. His roommate's name was Aiden, and he was a greenskeeper for a park downtown. Zachary and Aiden became really good friends, even though they were opposites. When Zachary turned 21, he started going out lots of nights into the city, partying and socializing with strangers. Aiden however, was never into partying. He’d rather stay home and experiment with some food recipes for when Zachary was hung-over in the morning.Zachary was 25 when he decided to go back and visit the ward. The name of it changed, it was now called “Venereum Sanatorium”. However the architecture was the same, though it looked as if there was a huge part of the building that was patched up. Like something exploded inside the building and then renovations were made. Zachary felt something pulling him to explore further, to find out whatever the hell was going on with that place. He walked around the building, and recognized the creek where he almost died. He noticed that the balcony edge was now covered by a wall so no more kids could get pushed over, finally. Zachary decided to follow the creek, he silently watched the flowing water, remembering when the water had streaks of blood in it from his wound. Suddenly he noticed a little braid of dandelions, a flower-crown. It was floating down the creek about 30 feet away from him. He chased after it.And that’s all he remembers. That’s the only thing he can recall happened before he woke up in Etherealia. He woke up to be 3 feet taller, and he had hooves for feet. Behind him was the creek. The creek was the same, but the landscape around it wasn't. He looked into the creek water to see a cyclops man with turquoise hair and tall black horns staring back at him. He yanked away from his reflection. He turned his head at the sound of a foot-step. He looked up into the eyes of a person with split-coloured hair. That was the start of Ego’s new life in Etherealia.
11/06/1996 - Etherealia
-------------------------------
Etherealia is the name of a void dimension which was created by Angelita. It is a dimension that can be traversed through in Venereum, via an obscured portal in the sanatorium. This dimension is a conscious manifestation of Angelita's Mind and is accessible to anyone who can find the entryway. Patients from the Venereum Sanatorium are often sent to the Lurubelle region after being cured by one of Angelita's good friends—and converted to Students. A species known as Etherians took form not long after Etherealia did, varying from hostile entities to friendly residents. The hostile entities are mainly referred to as "monsters" in most Etherealia regions. Angelita created some of the current residents and monsters located in Etherealia herself.
There is an academy in the central Lurubelle area, where the former Venereum patients reside for perpetuity. The events that take place inside of Lurubelle Academy are unknown to the residents that live in the surrounding regions. They are simply known as rumors. Only the superior life forms and rankings manage to slip out of the grasp of the void, only to return once more and continue their newfound lives.
